The Hammond-Harwood House: A "Jewel of Annapolis"
The Hammond-Harwood House proudly refers to itself as the "jewel of Annapolis," and rightfully so. This historical gem was designed by William Buckland, a famed architect who also designed George Mason's Gunston Hall. Buckland, who started his career as an indentured servant, began work on this townhouse in the late 18th century, incorporating elements of the Anglo-Palladian style that have been meticulously preserved.
