The Cape Cod Baseball League: A Rich History

The Cape Cod Baseball League, officially formed in 1923, is a top-tier collegiate summer baseball league. Players recommended by their coaches stay with host families across Cape Cod and participate in a 40-game regular season, followed by a postseason championship series.

Notable Alumni

In attendance at these games, you might witness a baseball legend in the making, as league alumni include players like Aaron Judge (Brewster 2012), Chris Sale (Yarmouth-Dennis 2009), and recent National Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Todd Helton (Orleans 1994). As of 2007, one in seven Major League Baseball players were once on the fields of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Family-Friendly Fun at the Ball Park

Each ballpark is unique, but recent baseball fans at the Orleans Firebirds' field rave about the family-friendly experience. They advise you to arrive early for parking and bring your own chairs or blanket, as bleacher space is limited. You can also bring your own food and nonalcoholic drinks or opt for a snack from the concession stand during the game.

Accessibility and Affordability

The league is a nonprofit organization aiming to provide affordable family entertainment, so there are no tickets and no assigned seats for the games. Entry is donation-based, and the season runs from mid-June to mid-August.
