Insider Tips for Visiting Elitch Gardens
Visit the park in winter for its Luminova Holidays event and don't forget to bring your camera; there are plenty of beautiful holiday light displays for photo opportunities, and some rides are open as well. – Leilani Osmundson
A Rich History and Diverse Attractions
Originally opened in 1890 as actual gardens and a zoological park, Elitch Gardens has evolved into a long-standing entertainment hub. Today, it features a theme park, a water park, various entertainment options, and more.
Theme Park Highlights
At the theme park, thrill-seekers can soar 17 stories above Denver on the Star Flyer swing ride or reach speeds of 50 mph on the twisting Mind Eraser coaster. For those who prefer a more leisurely experience, there are plenty of relaxing rides and activities.
Water Park Attractions
The water park offers soothing activities like the Commotion Ocean wave pool and the Castaway Creek lazy river, providing a refreshing escape during hot summer days.
Entertainment Options
Elitch Gardens provides a variety of entertainment, including "Dive-in Movies" at the wave pool, holiday firework shows, and concerts. Although the park closes after the summer season, it reopens for special seasonal events such as Fright Fest in the fall and Luminova Holidays in the winter.
Visitor Tips
The mix of rides and activities means there's something for everyone to enjoy. However, note that some rides may be closed during your visit and refreshments can be a bit pricey. To save money, purchase tickets online, which are cheaper than buying them at the park.
Pricing and Hours
Elitch Gardens offers various ticket options:
- Single-day admission starts at $49.99 (children 2 years old or younger enter for free).
- Season passes start at $154.99 online.
Check the park's website for more ticket options. Operating hours vary widely; generally, the park is open daily from Memorial Day to mid-August. From mid-August through October, it welcomes visitors on Saturdays and Sundays. Parking costs $30 per vehicle per day.
