Emerald Lake Trail

For a more accessible hike, the 3-mile Emerald Lake Trail is highly suggested. If you plan to hike this trail, it is advisable to start early to avoid the crowds that gather later in the day.

Dream Lake Trail

First-time hikers might find the 2-mile Dream Lake Trail an ideal option. This scenic out-and-back route is manageable for most fitness levels and offers stunning views.

Visitor Information

Beaver Meadows Visitor Center

Located less than 3 miles east of the center of Estes Park, the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center is a convenient starting point. Entrance fees to the park are $25 for cars and motorcycles, or $15 for pedestrians and cyclists. The park also offers a few free days each year, although it tends to be very crowded on those days.

Operating Hours and Seasonal Information

Rocky Mountain National Park is open 24/7 year-round. It experiences the highest number of visitors during the summer and fall. Keep in mind that several park roads, including the scenic Trail Ridge Road, close seasonally due to winter snowfall.
