Overview
Launched in 1944, the USS Missouri (also known as "Mighty Mo") is renowned for hosting the historic meeting between Allied and Axis representatives where Japan's surrender was formalized, marking the end of World War II. Following the war, the ship saw action in the Korean War and the Gulf War before being docked at Pearl Harbor, where it now serves as a memorial. The USS Missouri holds the honor of being the world's last active service battleship.
According to recent visitors, the war artifacts and exhibits at the Battleship Missouri Memorial greatly complement those at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial.
