Key Highlight: If you have an interest in learning more about the city’s iconic signs and Las Vegas history in general, consider a visit to The Neon Museum.
The Neon Museum Overview
As night falls, Las Vegas ignites with countless colorful bulbs, flashing in a dazzling display. Neon signs have been integral to Las Vegas, with hotels, bars, and casinos using these bright beacons to attract patrons for decades. Situated on Las Vegas Boulevard, just north of the Mob Museum and about a mile from Fremont Street, The Neon Museum offers an intriguing glimpse into this luminous history through guided tours of the "Neon Boneyard." This collection can be found behind the museum's visitor center, which resides in the lobby of the historic La Concha Motel.
Highlights
The expansive, nearly 2.25-acre outdoor exhibit boasts over 250 vintage Vegas signs, meticulously laid out for visitors to admire on the desert floor. Visitors can opt for self-guided tours during the daytime or join a guided tour at night—an option that's particularly popular. These 45-minute tours, conducted by knowledgeable museum interpreters, delve into the stories behind signs from iconic landmarks like Caesars Palace, the Golden Nugget, and Stardust. Notably, the night tours are considered some of the best in Las Vegas. If you plan to visit after dark, dress warmly as temperatures tend to drop once the sun sets.
Operating Hours
The Neon Museum typically welcomes visitors daily from 4 p.m. to midnight.
