Introduction to the Museum of Latin American Art
Housed in a striking building designed by the Mexican artist Manuel Rosen, the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) offers an immersive appreciation of Latino art before visitors even step inside. Established in 1996, it is the only museum in the country dedicated exclusively to modern and contemporary Latino art.
Inside the Museum
The museum boasts a collection of more than 1,600 permanent pieces alongside a wide variety of rotating exhibits. Past exhibitions at MOLAA have included works by renowned artists such as Robert Graham, Osmeivy Ortega, Nuna Mangiante, and Judithe Hernández.
Sculpture and Event Garden
In addition to the indoor galleries, MOLAA features a sculpture and event garden with over 30 pieces representing artists from nearly every Latin American country. This unique space consistently earns praise from travelers who recommend including the museum in your Long Beach itinerary.
