Overview of Greystone Mansion

Greystone Mansion, one of the largest mansions in Beverly Hills, stands as an iconic landmark in American cinema. This nearly 13-acre estate was a wedding gift from oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny to his son, Ned, in 1926. Construction on the mansion began in 1927 and took almost three years to complete. Today, Greystone symbolizes a golden era in American cinema, with its gothic-inspired grounds serving as the backdrop for numerous films such as "The Big Lebowski" and "Ghostbusters," as well as television shows like "General Hospital" and "Gilmore Girls."

Exploring the Mansion and Grounds

Visitors have the opportunity to explore the property and enjoy self-guided tours of the mansion's interior, which are offered monthly. The grounds are renowned for their stunning landscapes and scenic views.

Hours and Tickets

The Greystone Mansion grounds are open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours available during the summer. While access to the grounds is free, there is a $10 fee per person for touring the mansion. Self-guided tours are available on the first Saturday or Sunday of each month from January to November. Reservations can be made online in advance.

Additional Information

Free on-site parking is available for visitors. For more information, visit the Friends of Greystone website or the City of Beverly Hills' Greystone Mansion page.
