Island Alpaca: A Unique Attraction on Martha's Vineyard
One of the more unique attractions on Martha's Vineyard, Island Alpaca is popular among visitors for its friendly animals and well-stocked gift shop. Spread across 19 acres, the farm features a herd of more than 70 alpacas and one llama. When you're not petting or interacting with these gentle creatures, take a self-guided walking tour of the farm. The barn on the premises is a centuries-old, reclaimed hand-hewn oak, post and beam barn that was imported from Pennsylvania.

Location and Accessibility
The alpaca farm is located in Oak Bluffs, less than 3 miles south of the Vineyard Haven Harbor. If you don't have your own transportation, you can take the bus; Vineyard Transit Routes Nos. 1, 7, and 9 stop within a short walking distance of the farm.
Hours and Admission
Island Alpaca is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. year-round. From April through November, admission costs $5 per person. During the offseason, admission is free, but donations are welcomed. Be sure to check the farm's website before your visit to confirm the hours of operation.
