Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)
Known by locals as the PAMM, the Pérez Art Museum Miami stands as Miami's premier modern and contemporary art museum, showcasing a vast collection of international art from the 20th and 21st centuries. The museum's permanent collections and special exhibits emphasize Miami's cultural diversity and geographical significance as a crossroads of the Americas. There is a strong focus on the Latin experience in the U.S., Latin America, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora. PAMM's collection encompasses nearly 3,000 works of art, with a curated selection on display across its eight galleries at any given time.
Highlights and Features
Interactive Installations
One of the first engaging pieces visitors encounter is kinetic artist Jesús Rafael Soto's "Penetrable BBL Blue," an interactive outdoor installation composed of blue strings for guests to walk through and interact with.
Architectural Splendor
Visitors often praise the museum building itself as a must-see attraction. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron, the facility features exterior hanging gardens and stunning views of Biscayne Bay. The 200,000-square foot structure is a sustainable, state-of-the-art cultural icon in Miami.
On-Site Amenities
PAMM offers various amenities, including Verde, a modern American restaurant with an outdoor terrace that provides waterfront views. Visitors can also explore a boutique gift shop stocked with art books, apparel, home decor, office supplies, and merchandise by artists featured at the museum.
Location
Situated between the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and the Kaseya Center basketball arena in downtown Miami, PAMM is part of Maurice A. Ferré Park (formerly Museum Park) alongside the Frost Museum of Science.
