Introduction to LOVE Park

LOVE Park, designed by city planner Edmond Bacon (father of actor Kevin Bacon), is one of Philadelphia's iconic landmarks. The park is home to Robert Indiana's world-renowned LOVE statue, making it a prime spot for photo opportunities. Besides the famous statue, the park offers a welcome center, walking paths, ample green space, and a fountain, which is particularly enjoyable for toddlers on hot days.

Highlights of LOVE Park

Photo Opportunities

A photo in front of the LOVE sign is considered a must-do by visitors, although it's important to note that there is almost always a line. Additionally, many travelers recommend visiting the nearby Philadelphia Holocaust Memorial Plaza.

Christmas Village

For those who enjoy holiday markets, planning a visit during Christmas is highly recommended. During this time, the park transforms into Christmas Village, an event inspired by German Christmas markets featuring dazzling decor and vendors selling authentic European food, handmade ornaments, and more.

Getting There

LOVE Park is located in Logan Square, directly across the street from City Hall and adjacent to Dilworth Park.

Parking

The LOVE Park Garage is conveniently located directly under the attraction, with the entrance at 16th and Arch streets. Parking costs $22 for one hour or $28 for the entire day.

Public Transit

Several public transit options are available:

  • Subway: SEPTA's Suburban Station drops you across the street from LOVE Park.
  • Bus: Buses 4, 10, 11, 13, 16, 17, 21, 23, 33, 34, 36, 38, 42, 47, and 48 all stop at LOVE Park. The hop-on, hop-off Big Bus Philadelphia also makes a stop at LOVE Park/City Hall.
  • Philly Phlash: The seasonal Phlash makes a stop here on its Downtown Loop.

Hours and Admission

The visitor center at LOVE Park is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The park itself is free to explore and is accessible any time of day. For more information, visit the park's website.
