Mount Rose: The Closest Ski Area to Reno
If you're itching to get on the slopes but don't want to make the trek to Lake Tahoe, consider heading to Mount Rose. Located about 25 miles southwest of downtown Reno, Mount Rose is the nearest ski area to the city. Getting There
To reach the resort, take Highway 431, also known as Mt. Rose Highway. The ski season typically runs from November through April.
Lift Tickets and Pricing
One-day lift tickets for adults (ages 16 and older) cost $155. For children aged 6 to 15, the cost is $90. Tickets for children younger than 6 are priced at $20 and must be purchased on-site as they are not available online. Various discounts are offered on select days.
