Discovering Union Square
Situated a couple of blocks north of Market Street and southwest of the city's Financial District, Union Square is at the heart of downtown San Francisco's hustle and bustle. This area is favored by both travelers and locals for its prime location and vibrant energy.
The Iconic Park
Union Square Park is enveloped by tall buildings, some adorned with Times Square-size advertisements, and is bordered by busy streets. It offers a unique opportunity for visitors to sit in the middle of a bustling city and soak in the atmosphere safely. The park also features small grassy areas, palm trees, multiple seating sections, and various art pieces. Among the most recognized are the tall Dewey Monument located in the center of the square and the frequently photographed Hearts in San Francisco sculpture situated at the base of the square. From late November to mid-January, an outdoor ice-skating rink is set up in Union Square Plaza.
Plenty of Amenities
Surrounding Union Square is an abundance of amenities, including numerous hotels and a wide variety of dining options. Union Square is particularly famous for its shopping, often described as a "shopper’s paradise." Just a few blocks away, travelers can find everything from Neiman Marcus to Sephora.
