San Jose's Japantown, commonly referred to as J Town, is a cultural district steeped in history and authentic Japanese experiences. Established over a century ago by Japanese immigrants, it stands as one of the last three historic Japantowns in the United States, with the other two located in San Francisco and Los Angeles. J Town offers a mix of shops, restaurants serving a variety of Japanese cuisine, art galleries, and cultural attractions, making it an ideal destination to delve into Japanese heritage.

Japantown is situated north of downtown San Jose, just a few blocks from the city hall. It's easily accessible by car or public transportation. Besides street parking, consider using the VTA light rail, which has a stop right next to Japantown.
