For those intrigued by Florida's preserves, but preferring to stay on land, Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is an ideal destination. Situated in St. Pete, this 245-acre site, once a zoo and botanical garden, has been reclaimed by nature. Visitors can explore various habitats via the Main Trail, which branches into multiple side trails ranging from 0.15 miles to nearly 1.5 miles in length.

Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is located 4 miles south of downtown St. Pete. It is accessible by car as well as the Nos. 20 or 37 PSTA buses. The preserve is equipped with restrooms, water stations, and kayak/canoe rentals for your convenience.
Hours and Admission
The reserve's hours vary by time of year and day of the week, but it is typically open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Note that it is always closed on Mondays.
