Overview of Spanish River Park
Spanish River Park, commonly referred to as "Boca Raton's Lagoon," derives its name from a historical stream that used to run along the western boundary of the park. Today, this river forms part of the Intracoastal Waterway. While swimming in the lagoon or waterway is not allowed, visitors have access to an Atlantic Ocean beach. Lifeguards are on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, extending to 6:30 p.m. during daylight saving time.
