Introduction to Dushanbe Teahouse

The exquisite Dushanbe Teahouse has a fascinating origin story: Designed and constructed by more than 40 artisans in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the teahouse was gifted to its sister city, Boulder, as a gesture of friendship and cultural exchange. It was shipped in pieces to Boulder and reassembled with the assistance of master woodcarvers who helped create the beautiful structure.

Visiting the Teahouse

A Serene Escape

A visit to the Dushanbe Teahouse offers a serene escape from the busyness of travel. Come for a meal (or just a hot, fragrant cup of tea) and marvel at the colorful ceiling designs, ornately carved cedar pillars, and the plant-festooned Fountain of Seven Beauties, which trickles softly in the center of the room. Recent visitors have praised this unique Boulder experience for its atmosphere, decor, and variety of delicious teas available.

Location and Accessibility

Located on 13th Street between Canyon Boulevard and Arapahoe Avenue, the teahouse is easily accessed by foot or bike if you're already exploring downtown. It is just a three-minute walk from the RTD bus station on Walnut Street. If traveling by car, parking is available on 13th Street and 14th Street.

Operating Hours

The teahouse is open daily for lunch, afternoon tea (reservations required), and dinner from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Many reviewers advise arriving early to avoid long lines and waits, which are almost guaranteed on weekends.

Pricing Information

While visiting the teahouse is free, you will need to pay for refreshments and meals. Traditional English afternoon teas cost $25 per adult and $15 for children. The teahouse also hosts a special Dim Sum service priced at $30 per person. Prices for lunches, dinners, and brunch vary by dish.
