Introduction
Detroit's Michigan Science Center, affectionately known as Mi-Sci, is an excellent destination for families, especially those traveling with kids. The museum offers an interactive learning environment, featuring a planetarium, an IMAX theater, a 4D theater, and more than 220 hands-on exhibits that cover topics such as science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Interactive Learning and Exhibits
Parents find the museum to be both fun and educational for children. The live science programs capture kids' attention, and the temporary exhibitions, like "Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family" and "Towers of Tomorrow with LEGO Bricks," receive high praise. However, some reviewers mention that a few exhibits appear grimy or worn due to their hands-on nature.
Location
The Michigan Science Center is conveniently situated in Midtown, near other cultural landmarks such as the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, and additional cultural institutions.
Hours of Operation
Mi-Sci operates from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
Ticket Information
Tickets are priced at $23 for visitors aged 3 and older, while children aged 2 and under enjoy free admission. Parking options include metered street parking and several nearby lots and parking structures. Additionally, Mi-Sci is accessible via the QLINE's Warren station.
