Introduction to Ke'e Beach

Ke'e Beach (pronounced Keh-AY), located within Ha'ena State Park, is a scenic destination at the Kalalau trailhead. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Napali cliffs from the sandy shore. The beach is monitored by lifeguards, making it safe for swimming and snorkeling during certain times of the year if you stay close to the shore. Additionally, there are restrooms and showers available, though the absence of cell phone service is noteworthy due to the proximity to the cliffs.

Recent visitors have been captivated by Ke'e Beach's stunning North Shore location. However, its beauty and convenient location at the start of the Kalalau Trail have led to significant traffic. To manage this, the park has set daily visitor limits and requires advance reservations for entry.

Location and Access

Ke'e Beach is situated at the end of the Kuhio Highway. To enter Ha'ena State Park, reservations must be made up to 30 days in advance.

Fees

For nonresidents, the admission fee is $5, and parking costs $10. The park operates daily from 7 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Parking and Shuttle Service

While the park's parking lot offers 100 spaces, there is a round-trip shuttle service available from the Waipa Park & Ride, approximately 30 minutes away. Shuttle tickets are $40 per adult and $25 per child ages 4 to 15. Though some visitors appreciate the shuttle's convenience, others have found the booking process challenging and the cost high for the shuttle's short duration.
