On the western edge of The Mission, this 16-acre park is billed as one of the city’s most popular attractions. Historical Background

Interestingly, the park is situated on land that was once a Jewish cemetery. In 1905, the city purchased the land and created the park. A year later, it became a refugee camp for hundreds of residents who lost their homes in the historic 1906 earthquake and fire.
