Experience Skiing at Ski Santa Fe in New Mexico

It may come as a surprise to some visitors, but New Mexico is home to some of the top ski spots in the Southwest. Ski season here usually spans from late fall, around Thanksgiving, into March, and Ski Santa Fe receives an average of 225 inches of snow per year. Located about 15 miles northeast of Santa Fe, it is easily accessible and can be a convenient addition to your itinerary. The ski area encompasses 660 acres of terrain with 86 runs. While there are more intermediate and expert trails, beginners can also find suitable areas to enjoy their skiing experience. The resort offers a base elevation of 10,350 feet and a vertical drop of 1,725 feet, which skiers can access through seven chairlifts.

Access and Convenience

Visitors have praised Ski Santa Fe for its proximity to downtown Santa Fe, and the free shuttle service (the RTD Mountain Trail Bus) that runs from downtown to the mountain, making it easily accessible. Skiers have highlighted the excellent quality of the snow, the impressive views, and the minimal lift lines.

Dining Options

La Casa Cafe

Skiers spending a day on the slopes can enjoy breakfast and lunch, including freshly made soups and bakery items, from La Casa Cafe situated at the base of the mountain.

Totemoff's Bar & Grill

For a quick warm-up break, Totemoff's Bar & Grill offers hot chocolate and après-ski cocktails.

Terrace Grill

Those who wish to stay at the lodge can dine at the Terrace Grill, which provides beautiful views of the slopes from the base of the mountain.

Tickets

Lift ticket prices fluctuate based on the season. For weekend or holiday full-day lift tickets, adults (24 to 61 years old) can expect to pay around $102. Young adults (13 to 23 years old), seniors, and members of the military generally pay approximately $82, while tickets for kids (6 to 12 years old) cost about $68. Children younger than 5 and adults older than 72 can get tickets for around $20.

Hours

The resort typically opens in late November and closes in early April. During the ski season, the chairlifts operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For additional details, please visit the official website.
