Introduction to Bryce Point

One of the most popular viewpoints in the park, Bryce Point offers stunning sunrises for those willing to get up early. As the sun rises, it appears as though the tops of the hoodoos are ablaze, and then they rapidly and almost magically change colors. However, if you're not an early riser, don't worry: past visitors have noted that the views are remarkable at any time of day.

Trails Starting at Bryce Point

Peek-a-Boo Loop Trail

There are two trails that start at Bryce Point, including the strenuous 5 ½-mile Peek-a-Boo Loop Trail, which steeply descends to the canyon floor.

Under-the-Rim Trail

From here, travelers can also tackle the 23-mile Under-the-Rim trail, which heads from Bryce Point toward Rainbow Point. If you're up for the challenge, keep in mind that overnight hikes through Bryce Canyon's backcountry require a permit.

Access and Services at Bryce Point

Bryce Point, which is free to access with park admission, is situated 3 ½ miles south of the visitor center and is stop No. 8 on the free shuttle route. Since the park's complimentary shuttle doesn't operate before dawn, visitors will need their own transportation to reach Bryce Point for sunrise.
