After its debut in 2017, the Museum of the American Revolution quickly garnered acclaim as one of Philadelphia's top attractions. This unique museum offers a compelling narrative of the American Revolution through interactive exhibits that captivate visitors of all ages. A standout feature is its chronological layout that guides museumgoers through the historical journey, with George Washington's sleeping and office tent from the Revolutionary War being a notable highlight.
Exhibits for Kids
Another major draw is Revolution Place, designed to engage young children with four hands-on exhibits:
Military Encampment
This exhibit features a recreated soldier's tent, providing a glimpse into the life of a military encampment during the Revolutionary War.
18th Century Church
A replica of a church from the 1700s that allows kids to experience the religious setting of the era.
Three Tun Tavern
Here, children can observe bottles, bowls, and other items that would have been used in a 1700s tavern.
18th Century Parlor
This exhibit includes a recreated privy, known today as an outhouse, offering insights into 18th-century daily life.
Note that Revolution Place is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
